Turbomotive - No 6202  (post war livery). Designed by Sir William Stanier and introduced in 1933 this locomotive was an experiment in a different form of locomotive power. Instead of conventional steam pistons it had a turbine drive. which resulted in a smoother drive and transfer of power to the driving wheels. The locomotive performed very well but a high maintenance requirement saw it being rebuilt into a conventional drive. It's a lovely looking locomotive.
