Ex Highland Railway 4-4-0  No 14284 as at around 1924-1925. Designed by D Jones,  the class consisted of 9 locomotives and were introduced between 1892 and 1901. They were primarily intended for the Dingwall and Skye line hence the name "Skye Bogies". The liberal interpretation of the rather confused livery situation of the LMS at the time led to the class being outshopped in the red livery which really intended for the premier express classes. Presumably, in Highland eyes, this was an express locomotive. The original HR number of this locomotive was No 7.
